Truc Ngoc Hoang Dang, Ph.D., is a lecturer at the Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, Thailand. Dr. Dang obtained a bachelor's degree in public health from Ho Chi Minh City Medicine and Pharmacy University, Vietnam, and a Doctor of Philosophy in demography from the College of Population Studies, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. Dang received an ERAMUS+ scholarship for exchange students to study at SGH Warsaw School of Economics, Warsaw, Poland. 

Dr. Dang previously pursued a postdoctoral fellowship in the Faculty of Political Science at Chulalongkorn University. Following this, Dang held the position of visiting research fellow at the Center for Family and Population Research at the National University of Singapore. Before joining academia, Dr. Dang worked as a government official and policy advisor in the Division of Population and Family Planning, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Public Health, Vietnam, where Dang oversaw the implementation of national population programs. Dang has also consulted on health-related initiatives and training courses through collaborations between GEMNet-Health and the World Health Organization. 

Their research focuses on formal demographic methods, aging, public health, and population studies, with expertise in analyzing large and complex datasets. Dang publications appear in leading journals ranked in the top 10% and 25% of the Scopus index, with over 85% authored as first author, corresponding author, or essential intellectual contributor. Recently, Dr. Dang was listed among the Top 200 Researchers of Mahidol University 2025 and is under consideration for selection in the Top 100 Researchers.
