Troy Robotics contributes to Troy High School by offering a unique way for students to practice their skills and gain experience in the STEM field, community, outreach, and business relations. We are also listed as an approved club in the engineering pathway for Troy Tech. We participate in the annual FIRST Robotics Competition Season. These seasons allow students to receive hands-on experience in manufacturing, CAD, and programming, allowing them to be successful during their internships, future jobs, and classes at Troy High School. The necessary costs of our participation allows for students to gain experience in reaching out and building business relationships with both local and major businesses. They are involved in acquiring sponsorships to support our expenses in participating in competitions. Overall, the goal of FIRST is to give back to the community, which is achieved through our outreach programs, where we work with local groups/clubs to educate and inspire all generations about STEM.
The mission statement of Team 3952 is to inspire young individuals to find interest in and become leaders in a multitude of fields— including science, engineering, programming, entrepreneurship, and arts— by engaging in student-led programs that inspire innovation, build technical capabilities, and foster the development of real-life skills— including self-confidence, communication, and leadership. The team aims to inspire not only team members but also members of the community to whom the team will reach out through community service events.
Team 3952 is a recognized FIRST Robotics team since 2012 and has been participating in competitions in Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County, and Pomona. FIRST Robotics is internationally recognized, with teams from all over the world participating in regional competitions.
