Troop 87 is a 2023 Gold Quality level troop following the traditional BSA Scouting program. Most of our our scouts live in the Bushkill, and the northern Rt 209 corridor including Middle Smithfield , Smithfield, Marshalls Creek and East Stroudsburg area. We are member of the Mini Trails Council, Pocono District. We have troop meetings on Sunday evenings, from 6:00 till 7:30 p.m., at the Lehman Township Community Park. The "Friends of Lehman Township" is our sponsoring body, but a Scout does not need to be residents of Lehman Township to be a troop member.  The Troop uses the GroupMe and Facebook apps (available in the Google and Apple store) to quickly communicate with all troop members, families and friends. These are closed communication medium intended for the use of scouts, parents, guardians and pre-approved extended family members and friends.

Rank advancement and programs in Troop 87 is completely boy-driven. Ninety percent of our Scouts that stay with the Troop have become Eagles Scouts. We truly believe in community service projects each year such as a Scouting for Food, Veterans and 4th of July Parades and veterans flag replacement at local cemeteries. 

Since opening its doors in 2000, Troop 87 has the honor of achieving [31] Eagle Scouts among its ranks.

Dues:  Are due annually ($140 currently) . The dues can be paid in full or in 2 installments; (Payment #1) is due in late August at start of the school year, (Payment #2) is due before the Thanksgiving Holiday. Any scout starting in between payments will pay in full for the upcoming year and will be billed retroactive for the remainder of the current year.
