Originally chartered in 1955, Troop 773 is the oldest of three Scouts BSA units based in El Segundo, CA.
Troop 773 recruits from surrounding are not just El Segundo so we have a mix of boys from different schools, religions and ethnicities. This is one of the special components that makes Troop 773 a rare option to the usual Troop that receives most of it's scouts from the same pack year after year.
Troop 773 is a boy led troop whose focus is leadership development. A group of dedicated parents support‘s the boys. All though advancement is encouraged, it is not the sole focus. In recent years, we have produced more than double the national average of Eagle Scouts.
We conduct a variety of community service projects. Some of the recent beneficiaries of these service projects are local churches, a nature conservancy, and a school for the deaf, a homeless shelter, the American Diabetes Association, and an animal shelter.
Annually, we attend a week long Summer Camp. Recent locations we attended include: Camp Fiesta Island, Camp Big Horn, Camp Oljato and Camp Emerald Bay. The El Segundo Scout House Association, who owns and operates the El Segundo Scout House, provides our meeting location. We participate annually in it's Christmas tree lot fundraiser, which provides us with a annual source of funding.
Furthermore, it reimburses the cost of any Scout training any adult leader takes.
You and your son are invited to give us a look. We believe that you will like what you see.
We meet at the El Segundo Scout House (325 E Grand Avenue El Segundo CA 90245). Regular meetings take place at 7:30 pm on Mondays (and don't be afraid to give us a look). Leadership meetings take place at the discretion of the Senior Patrol Leader.
We are chartered by the El Segundo Rotary Club. A organization that is dedicated to community service, philanthropy and making a difference locally, nationally and around the globe.
