Troop 72 meets on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30pm at the American Legion in Orwell. New boys are welcome to visit a meeting and join at any time.
Troop 72 is an active troop. In addition to weekly meetings the boys plan one outing a month. Past outings have included: zip lining, white water rafting, hiking, Iron Chef competitions, and more. As a boy-led troop the boys are actively involved in planning events and meetings.
Members of Troop 72 at Summer Camp. Summer Camp is a week-long adventure of learning, fun, and making memories.
Boy Scouts move through ranks from scout through Eagle. Eagle Scout is the highest rank available in the scouting program and is a huge achievement. Only 4% of boys that join scouts will earn Eagle.
Part of the process of achieving ranks includes earning merit badges. Merit Badges are patches the boys earn for learning and mastering different skills. With over 100 merit badges available boys can learn about things they are interested in.
To see some of our past activities--visit the Photo Gallery. Past adventures have included themed campouts, survival camps building structures, troop shoots, hiking, backpacking, Iron Chef competitions, caving, and of course lots of camping! We throw a couple of fundraisers in throughout the year to help off-set costs and raise money for new equipment.
We welcome any boy interested in learning more to stop by a meeting and join us. We are currently meeting on Wednesdays from 7-8:30pm at the American Legion in Orwell! New Members are always welcome :)
