Scouting introduces a variety of wilderness skills to the scouts, allowing them to learn how to survive in nature. Events such as whitewater rafting or hiking empowers them to challenge themselves and test their limits. Through campouts and hiking trails, scouts learn how to look after themselves and their patrol members with necessary skills like first aid. The great outdoors gives scouts countless chances to grow and widen their knowledge.
The values scouting teaches sticks with the youth for the rest of their lives. From being kind and loyal to doing a good turn everyday, scouts are taught how to become the best version of themselves. Scouting seeks to help kids along their journey to adulthood, making sure that they stay on the right path. Providing leadership and volunteer opportunities, scouts are encouraged to give back to their communities in their own ways.
