Welcome!
Hello and welcome to Troop 2025! Youth from ages 11-17 are welcome to join us. For those aged 5-11, we would welcome you to our Cub Scout pack. If you are interested, please reach out to our Scoutmaster - troop2025brolla@gmail.com - or stop by one of our meetings. We generally meet at 6:30 on Wednesday nights at VFW Post 2025, South of Rolla at 15035 US-63. We'd love to have you join us for the adventure of a lifetime!

We will be headed to Bennett Spring in August to enjoy some fishing and work on our outdoor skills.
Scouting Kickoff
Scouting Kickoff
As the new school year gets going, we're having a big day. We'll be welcoming everyone back, and welcoming new families, at Lion's Club Park on September 2, at 6 pm. We're planning hot dogs and snacks (with options for those with food restrictions), games like magnet fishing, campsite building, raingutter regatta boats, a rope bridge, and a target casting competition, and information for new Scouts and Scouters. See you all there!
Stark Cavern
Stark Cavern
We will be camping in Stark Cavern this September 11-13. Friday night we will be camping out on site, and on Saturday we will have a cave tour and sleep in the cave! This promises to be a fantastic experience.

Celebration of Nations
Celebration of Nations
Troop 2025 will be helping set up for the annual Celebration of Nations in downtown Rolla on the afternoon of September 25! The next afternoon, September 26, we will also be helping to take down after the event. Our Scouts are also encouraged to attend the Celebration of Nations on Saturday morning and afternoon. It's a great opportunity for Scouts working on the Citizenship in the World merit badge. More details will be coming soon!
Wilderness Survival Campout
Wilderness Survival Campout
This October Troop 2025 is headed to the Mark Twain National Forest to practice wilderness survival skills, including building an emergency shelter, keeping warm and fed, and finding your way to safety.
Halloween Party
Halloween Party
Troop 2025 has invited Pack 2025 to a Halloween party on October 28 at 6:30 pm. Cubs should dress up in their best (appropriate!) costume for a costume contest, snacks, games, and possibly a movie!
Heroes Marathon
Heroes Marathon
We will be volunteering at the Heroes Marathon this November. Troop 2025 will help serve dinner on Friday night and lunch on Saturday, as well as hand out water to and cheer on the marathon participants.
Annual Planning Lock-In
Annual Planning Lock-In
Our scouts will be planning their activities for 2027! We will be at the Scout building on Friday night (December 11) for pizza, planning, and games. Talk to your patrol and patrol leader about the kinds of events you want to see as we develop our program for the coming year!
Christmas Service Opportunities
Christmas Service Opportunities
Troop 2025 is planning a very active holiday season! On December 4 we will be at Lichternacht in downtown Rolla, handing out S'mores supplies and managing the campfire for people from around Rolla to come make S'mores and have fun. The next morning we will be marching in the Christmas Parade and handing out candy and cards.
The next weekend, December 12, we're planning to honor our active military and veterans with Wreaths Across America!

Troop 2025 has invited Pack 2025 to a Christmas Party and Court of Honor on December 16. There will be dinner, gifts, and awards handed out to Scouts in both units. We are even expecting a special visitor!

Current River Canoe Trip
Current River Canoe Trip
Troop 2025 spent July 21-23 floating down the Current River! We went 43.5 miles down river from Cedar Grove Access to Two Rivers Access (though sometimes it felt a lot longer that that). Through swamped canoes and hot weather, our Scouts had a great time learning about handling their canoes and about wilderness camping. There were bald eagles, deer, and even a wild horse on the trip.
Special thanks to Dr. Katherine Grote, who provided several of the canoes we used during the trip!
Safety Day

Troop 2025 and Pack 2025 were at the Rolla Safety Day fitting kids for bicycle helmets and working with them on cycling safety. We all had a great time working ith kids from the community!
Court of Honor

On July 15 we recognized all of our Scouts' accomplishments over the last few months. One of our Scouts earned the Tenderfoot rank, while several earned merit badges.
Lion's Club Carnival

Our Scouts helped clean up Lion's Club Park each morning before the Carnival events and helped with the flag cermony on July 4!
Summer Camp!

Troop 2025 spent a week at Camp Arrowhead working on merit badges, meeting scouts from troops around our Council and beyond, and, most importantly, having fun!
Canoeing Merit Badge
Canoeing Merit Badge
We spent an afternoon working on our canoe skills, practicing the various methods for paddling and guiding a canoe. We also worked on how to safely swamp a canoe, get out and back in while on the water, and how to recover a swamped canoe. Everyone had a blast!
We'd like to send out special thanks to Dr. Katherine Grote for loaning our Scouts some canoes and a trailer for this experience.
Memorial Day

Our Scouts honored our veterans, assisting with the flag ceremony at Veteran's Memorial Park and placing flags on the graves of veterans in Rolla.
Kaintuch Hollow Backpacking
Kaintuch Hollow Backpacking
Our scouts went on a short training trip at Kaintuch Hollow. We hiked in about 2 and a half miles carrying all our gear, stopped to make breakfast at the natural tunnel, and set up camp by the spring. It was an adventurous hike because of the rain the night before, so we had to cross a few streams, but everyone had a great time.

We recently took the time to recognize our Scouts for their achievements. Several of our scouts were recognized for receiving their Tenderfoot rank, as well as merit badges and other awards. We wrapped up the evening with pizza and ice cream!

Scouts spend the nights in the Director's Cabin, worked on orienteering and hiking, and helped clean up the trails around the campground!
Two Scouts earned the Polar Bear award for this year.
Pinewood Derby
Pinewood Derby
Troop 2025 joined Pack 2025 for the 2026 Pinewood Derby! They helped set up and open the event, and participated in Outlaw Division races! Our winners were:

Scouting For Food
Scouting For Food
Rolla's annual Scouting for Food event took place in February. Troop 85, Troop 2025, and Pack 2025 collected over 3,200 pounds of food, all of which was donated to GRACE and will remain with families in the Rolla area.
Klondike Derby
Klondike Derby
Our Scouts had a blast at the Frontier District Klondike Derby! They joined Scouts from other units across central Missouri to show off their Scouting skills and compete against other Troops. Even though the weather was wet, it was a lot of fun!
Merit Badge University

Several of our Scouts attended the MBU at Missouri S&T on February 7 and earned one more merit badge on their journey to Eagle!
Winter Camping
Winter Camping
Tent camping amping in Missouri, in January. Not for the faint of heart. But our Scouts learned important skills for staying safe and comfortable in the cold, and had a great time throwing snowballs, sledding, and learning about building shelters in the snow.

Our newly elected youth leaders participated in ILST training with members of Troop 149 at Fort Leonard Wood. ILST is youth leadership training, and a prerequisite for other training opportunities.
They had a great time, had the chance to work with Scouts from another unit, and learned a few useful skills along the way.
Community Accolades
Community Accolades
Our Scouts have been making a splash! They recently conducted flag ceremonies at the Missouri S&T football game on November 3 and at the Rolla Middle School for Veteran's Day. They did a fantastic job, and we're very proud of them.
Several Scouts from our Troop (and Pack 2025) were also recognized at the Middle School the first week of February for their volunteer efforts in clearing snow from the sidewalk in front of the school!

Many retailers like REI, Cabela's, Gander Mountain, Coleman, Dick's Sporting Goods, or Sportsman's Warehouse offer discounts to Scouts and Scouters. Head to my.scouting.org and print out your membership 'card', and show it when you're checking out. Discounts vary by retailer, but can be up to 10%.

Camping Essentials
The Camping Essentials program makes essential camping equipment - a backpack, a sleeping bag, or hiking/winter boots - available to scouts for free. One piece per year. You must be recommended by a scout group leader, so reach out to the scoutmaster if you are interested.

Hiker Direct is a program that offers discount camping and backpacking gear such as tents, sleeping bags, backpacks and other great camping products to members of various scouting organizations in the United States. If you are a member of such an organization, you can register at hikerdirect.com to browse camping gear at discounted prices exclusive to scouts.
