BSA Troop 189 B G
Welcome to the Troop 189 home page. We are a well established fun and active boys and girls troop that likes to regularly enjoy activities and expierances in the outdoors.. Our yearly planning includes hikes, field trips, camping, community events and summer camp. We are always looking for new friends to add to our troop and encourage anyone interested to come to one of our meetings and see what scouts can offer.
Experiences
Scouting allows boys and girls to experience the thrills of adventuring with the guidance of more than 100 years of outdoor experience. Whether paddling a kayak down a white-water stream or sharing stories by the campfire with other Scouts, we encourage young people to grow into their best future selves through fun and exciting activities!
Friendships
Scouting provides a perfect place for children to build friendships with other kids and learn to positively navigate social interactions. These friendships are a critical component of youth development. They ward off loneliness, buffer the effects of bullying, offer support when parental relationships are strained.
When children are all learning common values in an enviroment of fun it helps them build stronger bonds.
Life Skills
Scouting fosters the spirit of learning for future innovators and leaders. The purpose of the merit badge program is to allow Scouts to examine subjects to determine if they would like to further pursue them as a career or vocation.
There are more than 135 merit badges, to learn about sports, crafts, science, trades, business, and future careers.
By investing in their development with these academic skills, ethics, leadership skills, and citizen ship skills, Scouts get a foundation that will help them navigate life challenges.
The Troop meets Monday nights 7-8pm at
Pointe Of Grace Lutheran Church
