Scouts from Troop 750 go to a Scout Summer Camp for a week every summer. During this time, boys have the opportunity to work on advancement, develop relationships with their peers and leaders, and live the virtues of Scouting. We can't stress enough how important it is that Scouts attend summer camp their first summer after joining the troop. Research shows that Scouts who come to camp with their troop immediately after joining or crossing over are far more likely to stick with Scouting. Many essential scout skills are learned that first summer. New scouts get to know the unit. This week is truly an essential experience for new scouts. Please make every effort to participate!
The summer camp packing list is a little different from the weekend camping list. Scouts are encouraged to pack for summer camp in a large duffel bag or even a trunk. An advantage of the plastic trunks is that when closed they are waterproof.
Summer camp participants must have a complete health record on file with the troop. When you see a doctor for an annual checkup any time in the year, as early as September, you should bring a med form with you for the Doctor's office to complete. Medical forms are good for a year. Each camp will have specific paperwork requirements. Watch weekly messaging for details!
