We would like to share the joys of scouting with you, but first we would like to tell you a little about us. We are a girls (4175) and a boys (0175) troop. We usually meet weekly on Tuesdays at Center Pointe Church Orlando, FL. The troop is a fundamental unit, which a Scout joins and participates in Scouting activities, such as camping, backpacking, hiking, fishing, and others.

The troop leadership, youth and adults, organizes and provides support for these activities. Troops work on badges and awards together, and arrange activities, events, and camping trip together. Each troop is divided into patrols of five to ten Scouts.

Mission:

We believe in fun, family, unity, and leadership by example, offering a Scout the opportunity to become the best version of themselves. We work to teach, lead, and inspire our Scouts by using the EDGE and other leadership methods. This focus enables our youth to learn to lead and then lead others. We strive to create a safe environment where a Scout can fail and succeed.

How we began:

In March 2018, four adults – with a long history with and deep passion for Scouting – met around a dining room table to talk about how they could bridge the gap families were facing in finding a local troop. In 2019, Scouts BSA as an organization began to embrace the Scouting for All vision and ushered in a new era of all female troops. After many conversations over coffee and tea, these 4 adults – many from Pack 175 – had the vision of creating a co-ed, family-oriented Scout unit. This vision became a reality in February 2019 when these same leaders and a handful of scouts started Troop 0175 and Troop 4175 with the goal to welcome all persons – from those transitioning from the Pack to families in the community – who were looking for a family-focused troop.

To this day we continue to welcome all people in the area who are looking for a family experience in Scouting. We are proud to have welcomed over 30 new Scouts and families since we started and look forward to continuing to see our numbers grow as more and more understand and embrace the principles of Scouting.
