Why Scouts?
When your child becomes a scout, he learns to enjoy being outdoors in nature as much as playing video games!
When your child becomes a scout, he learns to collaborate and communicate in a team!
When your child becomes a scout, he learns to be self-reliant and to be a leader!

Pictures and description coming soon!
ZOMBIE ARCHERY at PHILLY ARCHERY (NOV 2024)
Why do scouts learn archery? To take down the zombies, of course! Just kidding!
The scouts had a fantastic time honing their archery skills at Philly Archery situated in the heart of Philadelphia! Then, the scouts grabbed a bite to eat at Reading Terminal. The scouts are still talking about how fun it was! We'll definitely do this again! (Please, support this wonderful small business run by skilled, trained archers!)
CAMP MELMAR- LORIMER (OCT 2024)
Troop 1 introduced our new scouts to camping! The senior scouts led patrols, taught scouts how to wash dishes, cook meals, and set up tents. Scouts enjoyed the fishing in the river, learning about nature, and especially laughing around the campfire! Everyone learned a great deal while working on the Nature merit badge!
Whitewater Rafting (Oct 2024)
What an adventure it was! By the end of it, the scouts said they could handle for more intense rapids! We'll definitely be doing this again!
ROSLYN CAR SHOW (SEPT 2024)
Troop 1 had a blast selling popcorn and cotton candy at the Roslyn Car Show. Scouts mingled with the community, learned the very important job skill of cotton candy making, and raised funds to help the troop operate this year. Be on the lookout for more fundraisers!
Climbing Skills (Sept 2024)
To get scouts ready to climb outdoors, Troop 1 scouts got their hands on some rope! They practiced the Figure 8 knot, Figure 8 Follow Through, the Fisherman's knot, how to coil a rope, how to throw a rope, how to store ropes, and how to fuse a rope.
