π 1939
Triwindu comes from two words: tri, meaning three, and windu, meaning eight years. When combined, they represent a period of 24 years. The land where this legendary market now stands was originally a stable of Pura Mangkunegaran. It was transformed into Triwindu Market as a gift from Gusti Noeroel Kamaril to her father, Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Adipati Arya (KGPAA) Mangkunegaran VII, to celebrate his 24th year on the throne.
π 1970
Triwindu Market originally sold household items, tools, and old-model spare parts. Over time, it evolved into a market specializing in antiques.
π 2008-2010
The market underwent renovations to widen the spaces between kiosks and walkways, making it easier to navigate. The architecture and interior were also redesigned to better reflect Soloβs cultural heritage.
π 2015-NOW
Triwindu Market has gained international recognition as a hub for antiques. With the rise of social media and digital platforms, the market introduced online purchasing services, allowing buyers from both Indonesia and abroad to shop for unique finds.
