Dr Suvy Manuel attained his Under graduation and Post graduation ( BDS, MDS) from Govt.Dental College, Trivandrum, University of Kerala following which he passed the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) examination in OMFS, NBE, Ministry of Health, New Delhi.  He later  received the Membership of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (MNAMS).

 During his tenure of training in National Health Service (NHS) Maxillofacial units, United Kingdom, Dr Manuel attained the Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery, Royal college of Surgeons( RCS) England (MFDS RCS) and the Diploma of Membership in Oral Surgery, RCS Edinburgh (MOS RCS). Later on Dr Manuel also received the Fellowship in Dental Surgery form the RCS Edinburgh, UK ( FDS RCS Ed).

  He is currently MOMS RCS Ed ( Diploma of Membership in Oral Surgery) Examiner / Question setter for RCS Edinburgh (Faculty of Dental Examiners), as appointed by the Dental Examinations Committee, RCS Edinburgh, UK.

Dr Manuel has currently over 590 citations for his international & national publications in medical journals as per google scholar citations. He is published in the prestigious indexed peer reviewed journals in OMFS like JOMS American , British JOMS, International JOMS, OOOE, JOMFP.

He is a reviewer in peer reviewed/ indexed journals of Maxillofacial Surgery and the review history can be accessed by the link given below.(Has reviewed more than 110 articles in peer reviewed journals)

He was a former Associate Professor in OMFS, Kerala University of Health sciences & a former faculty of Manipal Academy of Higher Education.

Dr Manuel has delivered various invited key note lectures pertaining to different aspects of OMFS at the state and national dental and OMFS conferences /CDE programs and Master Classes.

 Suvy Manuel is an Editor for the Two volume textbook titled " Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for the Clinician",  published by Springer Singapore. Its an Open access initiative by the Association of Oral and maxillofacial Surgeons of India ( AOMSI) and the book was released in February 2021.The book has a total downloads of  11.5 million as of April  2024.. The book is free to download and printed version ( soft/ hard cover) can be ordered online. The book has 142 authors across the globe, 68 online videos, 88 chapters and more than 2000 pages, more than 1900 illustrations, and 122 citations as of now

 He has contributed chapter on Oro Antral Communications in text book of OMFS which has 134 K downloads.

Areas of surgical / clinical interest:

Being attached to the leading tertiary neurosurgical / cranio-maxillofacial trauma care hospitals in Trivandrum and being  on call consultant and member of the Accident & Emergency trauma team has provided ample experience in the treatment of complex craniomaxillofacial fractures ( jaw / facial trauma, hard & soft tissue wounds of face)after Road traffic accidents &  other injuries ( working along with team consisting Neuro /Plastic /ENT / Ophthalmic surgeons /Anesthetists , Critical care specialists and Intensivists)

Dr Manuel having over 21 years of surgical experience following specialization has  interest in the surgical treatment of adult dentofacial / jaw deformities ( protruded, retruded jaws / gummy smile etc). These deformities are corrected  by orthognathic surgery ( jaw osteotomy) with the help of allied dental specialties.
