I'm Tristan Daniel Horvath, a fully graduated game development student who has had experience working with a team of 7 to create and publish a game called Postehaste Emporium from start to finish.
I'm a skilled Programmer and decent Artist who enjoys what they do and wouldn't change it for any other job in the world.
I of course enjoy playing video games very much, such as Darktide, Deep Rock Galactic, Dark Souls (Franchise/their other souls-like games too), Middle Earth Shadow of War, Assasin Creed (Franchise), Dragon's Dogma, and honestly so many more that I could be filling this entire site just with game names.
However, there are other interests and hobbies outside of video games I enjoy, such as Dungeons and Dragons. I've been playing every other Friday for years now and it is something I truly enjoy, especially being able to socialize with close friends in a fantastic roleplaying game.
The last major hobby of mine would be playing, building, and painting Warhammer miniature games. It is a hobby I'm very passionate about and put a lot of time and effort into it as I find the gameplay fun, the building cathartic, and the painting satisfying.
-During the production of Postehaste Emporium I learned how to be cohesive and cooperative with others by being able to create various scripts and art that stayed coherent and usable with that of my teammates.
-I learned communication and work accountability by using Discord, Hansoft, and Exel to track every step, hour, and process of development for Postehaste Emporium.
-I learned to be dependable while working in a fast-paced environment at Tim Hortons by completing orders and tasks that required a cohesive team that depended on one another for every step to ensure the accuracy and promptness of the customer's orders.
-I displayed my motivation and desire to complete Postehaste Emporium many times by taking on and completing future tasks for the game even when I have already finished all my required and assigned ones early for the current milestone.
-I exhibited my tenaciousness when it came to solving programming issues such as; the back stock script in Postehaste Emporium which encountered a new issue in every milestone. I fixed every problem no matter how frustrating it was, causing the script to be more robust than ever.
-I utilized c# with Unity in order to create various scripts for Postehaste Emporium such as the back stock and its associated scripts that would handle the timer for items left on the floor and their teleportation to specified shelf locations in conjunction with existing shelf scripts.
-Throughout my school years I learned primarily c# alongside Unity by doing various assignments such as programming AI for tanks using state machines, programming an algorithm to solve a word puzzle, programming bullet projectiles using item pools, and many other assignments that expanded my knowledge.
-During my early school years I had many assignments using c++ such as programming a cube using DirectX. Though I’m not as experienced in it as c#, I will have the capacity to learn and master it quickly.
