My teaching adventure has been a meaningful journey of growth, learning, and self-discovery. At first, I felt nervous and unsure on what I will do, what topic should i discuss and how will i deliver it to the class but through the positive result of my teaching experience, I gradually built confidence in facing my students, guiding them and delivering lessons effectively. This journey made me realize that teaching is not just about sharing knowledge, but about inspiring learners, understanding their needs, and creating meaningful learning experiences.
My teaching adventure continues to inspire me to improve, grow, and make a positive impact in the lives of my students. It is not just a journey of teaching others, but also a journey of becoming the best version of myself as an educator.
The instructional material I created is designed to be interactive, visually engaging, and relevant to real-life situations. By using a menu-based setup with familiar food items, it helps students easily connect mathematical concepts to everyday experiences. This material reflects careful planning and creativity, aiming to enhance student participation and deepen understanding through meaningful and practical learning.
This Daily Lesson Plan focuses on teaching the four operations of integers through structured instruction and interactive activities. It aims to develop students’ understanding of integer rules and their ability to apply these concepts in solving problems.
The lesson integrates engaging strategies such as guided discussion, real-life application, and group activities to enhance student participation and learning. It also includes formative assessment to evaluate students’ understanding and promote critical thinking and collaboration
ASSESSMENT TOOLS
This assessment engages students in solving polynomial expressions through a puzzle-based activity. Students apply different factoring techniques, such as identifying common factors, difference of squares, and trinomials, to unlock solutions and complete the task.
The activity develops students’ analytical thinking, problem-solving, and reasoning skills. As a final output, students present a Factoring Investigation Portfolio that includes their solutions, explanations, and reflections, demonstrating their understanding of polynomial factoring
This assessment requires students to apply their knowledge of rational algebraic expressions in a real-life situation by planning a school fair budget. Students perform operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, and simplify expressions to solve problems.
The task develops students’ problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills. As a final output, students present a Mathematical Budget Analysis Report that clearly shows their solutions, explanations, and understanding of the concepts.
Both assessments target the development of students’ algebraic thinking by focusing on their ability to analyze, simplify, and apply algebraic expressions while strengthening their problem-solving, reasoning, and real-life application skills. They also emphasize the importance of selecting appropriate strategies and accurately performing mathematical operations. Additionally, both tasks encourage students to communicate their solutions clearly and reflect on their learning process
This course, Assessment and Evaluation in Mathematics, helped me realize that assessment is not just about checking correct answers but also about understanding how students think and solve problems. I learned that it is important to use different ways of assessing learning so that both skills and understanding are measured.
I also realized that assessment helps guide my learning by giving feedback on what I need to improve. Overall, this course made me understand that assessment is an ongoing process that helps me grow and become better in mathematics .
