Effective and last updated: 26 August 2026
Tripllet is designed to keep your trips and expenses private. It does not require an account, show advertisements, use analytics, or sell personal information. Trip and expense information you enter is stored locally on your device.
1. ABOUT THIS POLICY
This Privacy Policy explains how the Tripllet mobile application ("Tripllet," "the app," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use its itinerary, expense tracking, currency conversion, reminder, and PDF export features.
2. INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
Tripllet may store the following information locally on your device so its features work and your information remains available when the app is reopened:
• Trip names, countries, cities or locations, dates, activities, times, reminder choices, and notes;
• Expense descriptions, categories, amounts, currencies, pocket-money amounts, and saved expense history;
• Currency-converter amounts, selected currencies, downloaded currency choices, cached exchange rates, and trend selections; and
• App preferences such as appearance, theme, and accent colour.
This locally stored content is not uploaded to a Tripllet account or Tripllet-operated server because the app does not provide user accounts or cloud synchronisation.
3. EXCHANGE-RATE SERVICES
Tripllet connects to public third-party services to download currency names, current exchange rates, and historical rate data. Requests may include currency codes and date ranges. The app does not send your itinerary, expense descriptions, notes, or pocket-money records with these requests.
The network providers that deliver these services may automatically process technical information, such as an IP address and standard request information, to return the requested data and maintain their services. Their handling of information is governed by their own policies. Services currently used by Tripllet include the Fawaz Ahmed Currency API, delivered through jsDelivr and Cloudflare, and the Frankfurter exchange-rate API.
4. NOTIFICATIONS AND REMINDERS
If you enable itinerary reminders, Tripllet asks for permission to show notifications. Reminder details are scheduled and processed locally on your device. The app may restore scheduled reminders after the device restarts. Tripllet does not send reminder content to us.
5. PDF EXPORTS AND DEVICE STORAGE
When you export a planned or completed itinerary or an expense receipt, Tripllet creates the PDF on your device and saves it in the Tripllet folders within your Downloads storage, or lets you choose a save location when required by Android. Tripllet does not upload these PDFs. Anyone who can access your device or exported files may be able to view their contents, so you should protect and share them carefully.
6. PERMISSIONS
Tripllet uses internet access to retrieve exchange-rate information, notification permission to display reminders, and device restart access to restore scheduled reminders. The current app does not request access to your precise or approximate location, contacts, camera, microphone, phone calls, or text messages.
7. ADVERTISING, ANALYTICS, AND SHARING
Tripllet does not contain advertisements or advertising software, does not use an analytics or crash-reporting service, and does not sell personal information. Tripllet does not share the trip and expense content stored locally on your device. The limited exchange-rate requests described above are sent to the applicable third-party service only to provide currency features.
8. RETENTION AND DELETION
Your locally stored app information remains on your device until you remove it through Tripllet, clear the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app. PDFs exported to Downloads are separate files and must be deleted using your device's file manager if you no longer want to keep them.
9. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Tripllet is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
10. SECURITY
We limit data handling by keeping trip and expense information on your device and using encrypted HTTPS connections for exchange-rate requests. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and you are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and exported files.
11. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy when Tripllet's features or legal requirements change. The revised policy will show a new "last updated" date. Material changes should be reflected in the app and its Google Play listing where appropriate.
