Overveiw
My time at Drew has been full of challenges and opportunities. I’ve faced balancing academics with my health, adjusting to new environments, and navigating social ups and downs, all while staying engaged in the school community. Leading the Tree Club with Trees Atlanta, participating in sports, contributing to the Beta Club, and volunteering locally gave me chances to take initiative, collaborate with others, and make an impact in my community. I’ve built meaningful connections with people I never expected to get close to, and I’ve learned how to persevere through obstacles, manage my responsibilities, and advocate for myself. Drew has shaped my sense of purpose, strengthened my voice, and prepared me to step confidently into my next chapter.
Environmental Health Club
Tree Club is a student-led organization I founded at my school in partnership with Trees Atlanta. The club focuses on environmental stewardship through hands-on learning and community engagement. members learn about the importance of urban forests, tree care, and sustainability while actively participating in planting. Tree Club creates space for students to take ownership of their environment, understand the role green spaces play in community health, and contribute to long-term environmental impact.
Varsity Girls Tennis
I was a member of the varsity girls tennis team at Charles R. Drew Charter School and competed throughout high school, except during 10th grade when I joined the varsity track team. Being part of both programs strengthened my discipline and time management. Balancing academics with year-round athletics helped me develop leadership skills and a strong work ethic that I carry beyond sports.
Meet My Kindergartener Khodi !
It’s a special tradition at our school that each senior is paired with a kindergartner to spend time with throughout the year, building a meaningful connection that can last beyond graduation. My kindergartner’s name is Khodi. He loves cars, his favorite color is blue, and he wants to be a police officer when he grows up. Here, you can see the poster I created for him for our Kindergarten Walk, as well as moments of us enjoying our time together.
