My journey as a writer began six years ago, starting with poetry. In 2018, I won the Rotary Club poetry competition for my region. I've since submitted my poetry for publication, embracing rejections as opportunities for learning.
My poetry has been featured in several publications, including Between These Shores Literary and Arts Annual, where I was recognized as their featured emerging poet, Bollocks to Brexit, and Pure Slush: The Beautifullest. In 2019, I expanded into prose, completing nine short stories and exploring the rich world of novels.
In 2019, I had the privilege of winning the Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award, becoming the first-ever winner from the Northeast. The experience allowed me to connect with talented poets from across the world and attend an enriching writing retreat at the Hurst. My tutors, Raymond Antrobus and Mimi Khavalti, have been instrumental in honing my craft.
I was in the top 7% of short fiction entries in the Bridport Prize in the 2024 Short Story competition.
I won Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award 2019. For this I won a spot on an Arvon course in 2020 where I was tutored by Raymond Antrobus and Mimi Khavaldi.
I won the Rotary Club Poetry competition for my region in 2018.
