PACH Astra's Soca for de World
Harper, Mercedes, and Soca
Beth has been training, teaching, and competing in dog agility since 2002. She is a longtime member of Contact Zonies Dog Agility club in Phoenix, Arizona. Her regular 9-5 job, since 2005, is with A.T. Still University of Health Sciences (ATSU). "Dr. Poppre" (EdD, MEd, BS) teaches in the doctor of medical science program with physician assistant/associate doctorate students. Beth has been working in graduate higher education since 1996 at the University of Arizona college of medicine, Arizona State University graduate college, and ATSU.
Beth and her husband currently share their home with two rescue dogs: Aitch (German Shepherd, agility dog) and Jezabel (mostly Pembroke corgi, couch potato, and hoover).
Beth's first agility dog, Harper (German Shepherd), taught her how to laugh at herself and never give up on her dog. Harper loved playing agility - he just didn't care what order he did the obstacles in (and often did the same ones several times). Beth's only agility verbal back then was simply "HERE!". Soca (German Shepherd #2) was her heart dog and loved doing anything with Beth; she was a constant shadow. Soca earned her AKC Agility Championship, competed at AKC Nationals, and excelled at NADAC. Sadly, hemangiosarcoma took her to heaven at the age of 11. Beth's current agility partner is Aitch (pronounced "H"). He's a big boy and stands 27" at the withers; but man can he jump. Beth and Aitch are currently playing at USDAA and NADAC with the occasional UKI trial. The team doesn't have any specific goals - except to have fun on and off the course.
Beth started teaching for Contact Zonies in 2003 and has taught Beginners, Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced classes. She now enjoys helping the club with the training curriculum. She is also an AKC evaluator for ACT trials.
Finding dog agility not only added numerous friends to her life but has created life-long relationships and joy. Beth loves to teach new students. Her number one goal is for students to have FUN with their dogs.
Why "Trinity"? TAG is named after my three amazing heart dogs: Harper, Mercedes, and Soca. They taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and laughter.
