What is Tribury Reads Together?

Mission Statement

The mission of Tribury Reads Together (TRT) is to bring our community together through reading and discussing books that enrich our understanding of the world around us. Founded by community volunteers, TRT chooses a theme for each reading, reviews possible titles for quality and appropriateness, and then submits a “short list” to the community for consideration, with the winning title being chosen by popular vote and being the one that community members are encouraged to read together. TRT will then organize small group discussions for those who wish to take part where community members can come together with trained facilitators who will help them share their thoughts and learn together.

Get Involved!

Being an all-volunteer effort, TRT welcomes the involvement of community members who wish to help with the following tasks:

  • Vetting potential titles for inclusion on the “short list”

  • Being trained as a facilitator to lead community conversations

  • Doing publicity to encourage other community members to participate in the Community Read

If interested in getting involved with TRT, please contact Kevin Jennings (kevin@kevinjennings.com) or Julia Bower Richardson (juliabowerrichardson@gmail.com).
