TCGC's We Honor Our Own and CAG's Distinguished Service Awards

The 2025-2026 We Honor Our Own nominations are open!

Do you know someone who has made the world better for GATE students and their families? If so, please nominate them for the Tri-County GATE Council We Honor Our Own (WHOO) Award!

Tri-County GATE Council solicits nominations for teachers, administrators, parents/guardians, and community members who have made outstanding contributions to the education of gifted students.

We welcome nominations from anyone, including parents/guardians, educational peers, and administrators. Please note that nominating someone does not automatically mean they will be recognized.

The final nominees will be selected by the Tri-County GATE Council Recognition Committee. In addition to notifying the nominee of their recognition, we will also notify the persons listed on the nomination form and the county superintendent’s office. We may also send out press releases, post the recognition on social media, as well as on our website.

April 10, 2026: Nominations close

Sorry, NO late nominations will be accepted

April 24, 2026: Winners announced/notified

May 4- 8, 2026: Acknowledgements/Presentation

Distinguished Service Award Winner

Congratulations to our very own TCGC Past President, Dr. Cynthia Z. Hansen! Dr. Hansen is the 2026 Distinguished Service Award Winner! She was honored by CAG for her outstanding contribution to gifted education and her advocacy for gifted learners. Her service includes being an educator, a therapist specilizaing in 2E, a faculty member of Elmbridge University, and of course her many years of dedication to TCGC!
