Regional Occupational Programs (ROP) are state-funded public career education programs designed to meet industry needs. Courses combine classroom instruction with work-based learning. Most ROP classes throughout California are geared for high school students and not all ROP locations offer classes for adults.

Class Dates: August 18, 2021 - March 31, 2022
Cost: $1650 per quarter (total cost of course is $3,500)
Total includes a non-refundable $200 deposit to guarantee your spot in the class upon completion of the prerequisite testing.
Additional costs: $300 for books, lab coat, and testing fee

Prerequisite: Must have a high school diploma or GED. Must pass the placement assessment with a score in reading and math at the 8.0 grade level. The preparatory course at Fremont Adult School will prepare you for this test.
Want to prepare for the Pharmacy Technician program? Fremont Adult and Continuing Education (FACE) has a free preparation course aligned specifically with Mission Valley ROP's curriculum. Students who pass all the requirements and assessments of this bridge course, including the final tests and the oral interview, will meet the eligibility requirements for Mission Valley ROP Pharmacy Technology Course.

The Alameda Workforce Investment Board has limited funds available for low-income individuals to get the training they need to earn an industry-recognized certificate through the local One-Stop Career Center. Meet with a career navigator from Ohlone College Career Ventures located at the Ohlone College Newark Center and see if you qualify. Qualified participants may receive financial assistance towards education/training, work-based learning, internships, and on-the-job training.
