Become an Inducted Thespian

Students earn membership into TRHS Thespian Troupe #5774 by earning points for hours spent working on and performing in TRHS Theatre productions. Twenty points are required for membership. Students who have achieved this points goal are invited to become inducted thespians in an annual ceremony held at the end of each school year.

The International Thespian Society mission is to honor student excellence in theatre arts.

ThunderRidge High School sponsors Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) and International Thespian Society (ITS) Troupe #5774. This troupe is part of an international honor society for high school theatre students who have exhibited meritorious participation in their high school's theatre program. Participation in drama or tech crew activities and other criteria determine eligibility for membership in this organization. Eligible students are inducted into the troupe in May. This induction is the first step towards earning a varsity letter in theatre at ThunderRidge High School which includes achieving Honor Thespian status, participating in local activities, or serving as a Colorado State Thespian Officer. The Colorado EdTa and ITS havae scholarships that are available only to inducted thespians. Students earning the rank of Honor Thespian wear a blue and gold Thespian Honor Cord with their graduation robes at their commencement.

The International Thespian Society is an honorary organization for high school and middle school theatre students located in more than 3,600 affiliated secondary schools across the United States, Canada, and abroad. ITS is a division of the Educational Theatre Association. The society is committed to the advancement of educational theatre. The International Thespian Society publishes Dramatics Magazine, sponsors Thespian Festivals and theatre workshops, produces education materials, and provides college scholarship opportunities for students.

The Colorado State Thespians are affiliated with ITS/EdTA. ThunderRidge High School's Thespian Troupe annually attends the Colorado State Thespian Festival downtown at the Denver Convention Center. The festival is usually held the second week of December, Thursday evening through Saturday afternoon. Students can attend workshops and compete in both technical and acting categories. Students must be inducted thespians to participate in the festival.
