My rifle is tuned for 15,5J of muzzle energy. Theoretical accuracy of the rifle is great, but it also depends on pellets. For me, the best pellets are JSB Exact special series in 4.53mm caliber, 0.547g. The rifle is well usable as produced. The stock spring generated 15.5J at the beginning and approx. 13.5J after 4500 shots. Then I decided to exchange it for V-Mach.
Real accuracy of this rifle is great. Even when shooting at a distance of 70 m (with the rifle scope), I achieved a scatter of about 6 cm. The maximum shooting distance is also given by the ability to aim correctly. My Valiant Themys 4-12x40 rifle scope allows me to aim theoretically at a distance of about 145 m.
Pros
Accuracy and consistency of shooting
Great
Great workmanship, high-quality materials
Deep and long dovetail
Possibility of using mechanical sights (quality mechanical sights are supplied as standard accessory of the rifle)
Double-sided cheekpiece on a standard stock and thus trouble-free use by right-handed and left-handed shooters
Large selection of types of stock, colors, surface of meal parts, accessories, etc.
Cons
The cheek is slightly higher than would be optimal for the use of open sights.
The Weihrauch HW 77 K is a great air rifle also suitable for sports use (e.g. HFT), which is also supported by shortened barrel of the K version compared to the standard version. The rifle is well made, shoots consistently and with good ammunition very accurately. It is relatively heavy (4 kg without optics), but thanks to that it is stable. The kicks after the shot are not very significant even when using a 16J spring, but the weapon kicks a bit. When mounting the optics you must take into account the arched upper side of the body with the dovetail. The arching reduces the actual height of the optics above the body of the weapon and some mounts may be too low. The dovetail itself is deep enough to easily fit sommon mounts, and is also quite long, providing plenty of space for optimal attachment of accessories. The trigger is excellent and well adjustable.
One of the advantages is that the rifle can be purchased with a variously designed stock, resp. the material of the barrel and the body of the weapon. The rifle can be further tuned according to shooter's needs. Any stock suitable for HW 77/97 series rifle can be used.
Present Weihrauch HW 77 K is an evolution of the model produced for several decades. The longevity of the model is reflected in its tuning, a large number of variants and accessories, a large community of users and years of proven quality and reliability. At the same time, it is one of the few options you have if you want to buy a higher-class spring air rifle with a fixed barrel and the option of installing mechanical sights. If you also want the rifle usable by right-handers and left-handers, and also that everything is made of real iron, then Weihrauch HW 77 or 77 K is practically the only option.
Note: I had the opportunity to shoot with this rifle equipped by V-Mach spring giving a muzzle energy of about 19 J (even though the spring was bought as 16J) and shooting was not pleasant or accurate. After a few shots, I shortened the spring so that it gave energy up to 16 J, and immediately it was a pleasant and accurate shooting again.
