To install Trezor Suite for managing your Trezor hardware wallet, first visit the official Trezor website and download the appropriate installation file for your operating system. Then, follow the on-screen prompts to install the desktop app or use the web app. Once installed, connect your Trezor hardware wallet and follow the prompts to set it up, including creating a wallet backup and setting your PIN.
1. Download Trezor Suite:
Go to trezor.io and download the Trezor Suite application for your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux).
2. Install Trezor Suite:
1. Open a browser and go to https://trezor.io/start/ website
2. Locate the “Download for Desktop” button and click it
3. You have several Operating system options to choose from
4. The options are- Linux, Mac, and Windows
5. Meanwhile, you can also choose to install Trazor Suite on Android or iOS
6. Pick your desired operating system, the same on your current device
7. Follow some easy prompts to complete the installation
Download and Install Trezor Suite: If you haven't already, download the Trezor Suite app from the Trezor website.
Plug in your Trezor Device: Connect your Trezor hardware wallet to your computer using the provided USB cable.
Initialize the Trezor: Trezor Suite will guide you through the initial setup, which includes updating the device firmware.
Create a New Wallet: Choose "Create new wallet" to generate a fresh set of keys on your device.
Agree to Terms and Conditions: You'll need to confirm that you understand the importance of backing up your seed phrase and that you are responsible for its safety.
Back Up Your Seed Phrase: Carefully record these words in the correct order using the provided backup cards or a secure physical method.
Set a PIN: You'll need to choose a PIN for your Trezor device to provide an additional layer of security.
Activate Coins: Select the cryptocurrencies you want to use with your Trezor.
Start Using Your Wallet: You're now ready to receive and send cryptocurrencies using your new Trezor wallet.
Go to Device settings in Trezor Suite, which is accessed by clicking on the gear icon in the top menu.
Under the "Security" section you will see which firmware version is currently installed. If your device is running the latest version of the firmware it will show "Up to date:
If a firmware update is available, you can proceed with the update by clicking on "Update available":
To proceed with the firmware update, click on Install firmware and follow the on-screen / on-device instructions.
Your Trezor may prompt you that it is restarting in bootloader mode. Select Restart.
On Trezor Model One only: If you are using firmware 1.11.2 or earlier, you must complete two updating steps for bootloader and firmware installation, so the process may require two confirmations depending on the state of the device.
Firmware version will be displayed by the Trezor Device. Confirm you wish to install the update.
Review and confirm any additional prompts from the Trezor Device.
If you are planning to use a Trezor device or any other hardware wallet, you cannot use it without installing its companion application. For Trezor Wallet models, the companion app is Trezor Suite which can be easily installed by navigating to trezor.io/start. To make sure that your cryptocurrency never goes into the wrong hands, do not share your backup phrase with anyone and keep it hidden.
