A Pew Research study revealed that about 50% of people surveyed preferred rural or small town living if they could live anywhere. The question then becomes what can communities do to position their town as that destination, attracting new residents and retaining current citizens?

Treynor's Tomorrow is designed to help us do just that.

Treynor elected to participate in the Marketing Hometown American (MHA) program to uncover what residents believe makes their community special. What do you love about your community? Where do you spend your time? How could the place you call home be better?

Treynor's Tomorrow will help us answer these questions, by engaging those in Treynor and the surrounding area to collectively think about the future of our community. Community members who participate in this initiative discuss ideas and opportunities and decide which could have the most impact.  The ideas will help inform the city's next strategic visioning process and affirm existing projects already underway. In late August we'll gather all ideas with a community gathering and make a 12-18 month plan of new projects and initiatives that can be implemented.

It's an opportunity to amplify Treynor's best features and put the community on the map for those who are looking for a place to call home.

This project is conducted in collaboration with Iowa State Extension and Outreach and Nebraska Extension.
