About Me
I am a PhD candidate at the Land Economics Group and Center for Development Research (ZEF) at the University of Bonn.
With an interdisciplinary academic background rooted in Geography and International Relations, my work integrates geo-spatial modeling with both qualitative and quantitative research methods. I focus on identifying, quantifying, and synthesizing the impacts of past (ex post) public policies and predicting the trajectories of future (ex ante) public policies related to combating deforestation, advancing biodiversity conservation, developing a sustainable bioeconomy, and reducing the environmental impacts of infrastructure development. My research predominately focuses on these issues in Brazil.
Prior to undertaking a PhD, I earned a B.A. in International Relations and Geography from The George Washington University (USA) and an MSc in Environmental Systems Analysis and Modeling from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil). Moreover, I have professional experience in the wind energy, environmental consulting, and policy sectors.
