The Trademark Act 1999 stipulates that the trademark registration in India must last for ten (10) year. Prescribed renewal fees will be required for renewals within a 10-year period.
It is up to you to decide whether or not to renew your trademark before the expiration date. If your trademark is not renewed, anyone can claim it.
The validity and duration of a trademark is limited to ten years. If you wish to keep your legal protection, the trademark must be renewed after that.

A TM-R form must be filed. This can be filed by an agent or authorized representative. The trademark owner does not need to be involved in any way.
After approval of the trademark application, it will be published in the official Trademark Journal. This will provide additional legal protection for the owner and extend the trademark registration period by 10 years.
There is nothing to be concerned about if you miss the deadline to renew your trademark request. If the case is filed in the prescribed way, you can also file it within six months of expiry. There might be a late filing fee.
