Getting to Sendai
Located in the heart of the Tohoku region, Sendai is easily accessible via high-speed train or direct flight. Below you will find step-by-step guidance on reaching Sendai and getting to the conference venue.
If you're flying into Tokyo's Narita (NRT) or Haneda (HND) airports:
Airport to Tokyo Station:
From Narita Airport (NRT): Take the JR Narita Express (N'EX) directly to Tokyo Station (~60 minutes).
From Haneda Airport (HND): Take the Tokyo Monorail to Hamamatsucho Station, then transfer to the JR Yamanote or Keihin-Tohoku line to Tokyo Station (~30 minutes total).
Tokyo Station to Sendai:
Transfer to the JR Tohoku Shinkansen (Bullet Train).
Take the express Hayabusa or Komachi train, which takes approximately 90 minutes to reach JR Sendai Station.
Note: The Hayabusa and Komachi trains require reserved seats.
Sendai Airport (SDJ) operates direct international flights connecting to major regional hubs, including Seoul (ICN), Taipei (TPE), Shanghai (PVG), and Dalian (DLC).
The conference will be held at the Graduate School of Information Science, located on the Aobayama Campus of Tohoku University in Sendai.
The easiest and fastest way to access the venue is via the Sendai City Subway.
At JR Sendai Station, follow the signs to the Sendai Subway Tozai Line (Blue Line).
Take the train bound for Yagiyama-zoological-park (T01).
Ride for 9 minutes (4 stops) and get off at Aobayama Station (T02).
Exit via Exit North 1. The Graduate School of Information Science building is approximately a 3 to 5-minute walk from the station exit.
