Prior to application to Teacher Education, students register for the Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators Tests. These tests comprise three areas: reading, writing, and Math. Minimum scores of 150 in math, 156 in reading, and 155 in writing are needed for admission into the teacher education program. Below are additional resources to help you prepare for the Praxis Core Exam.
Prior to student teaching/residency, students must take the Praxis content exam(s) for their major(s). Elementary Education majors take the Praxis Multiple Subjects (5001) exam, which consists of reading & language arts, math, social studies, and science. Minimum scores of 150 in reading & language arts, 146 in math, 147 in social studies, and 150 in science are needed for the student to receive student teaching placement. Teachers Test Prep
The Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT) exam is the final required Praxis test and is taken during the residency year. A passing score on the PLT exam is required for both graduation and Teacher Certification. Below are additional resources to help you prepare for the PLT Exam.
