The Jodu Pala trek begins with a challenging ascent right from the rich, naturally soaked campsite. The trail immediately tests your stamina with a little steep climb for the first kilometer. However, as you gradually find your rhythm and pace, your body adapts, making the journey smoother. Every 100 meters of ascent offers a tangible sense of altitude gain, marking your progress up the mountain.
Reaching the one-kilometer mark rewards you with breathtaking panoramic views, accompanied by cool, misty air that refreshes your warmed-up body. This is just the prelude to the true magic of the trek.
From here on, the trail to Kalu Betta Peak is a captivating dance through dense forest cover, open grasslands, and scenic walk over ridges. Along the way, you’ll encounter a fascinating variety of nature’s wonders—non-edible mushrooms, wild blueberries, jackfruit trees, and ferns clinging to tree barks—each adding to the richness of the experience.
A few hundred meters before the summit, the trail opens up to reveal a continuous chain of mountains draped in lush grassland. At the peak, you are rewarded with an eagle’s eye view that stretches far and wide, a perfect moment to savor the grandeur of nature.
