If you want long battery life, deep water resistance, and a secure fit for intense sweat sessions, choose TREBLAB WX8; if you need larger drivers for richer bass tones, instant pairing convenience, and a stylish design that stands out, choose SANTANA BY CARLOS SANTANA Sounds Mambo True.
• TREBLAB WX8: Offers an impressive 28-hour total playtime and IPX8 waterproofing that handles submersion, making it the rugged choice for serious athletes.
• SANTANA BY CARLOS SANTANA Sounds Mambo True: Features larger 8mm drivers and a sleek red aesthetic with seamless auto-pairing, ideal for those prioritizing sound richness and style.
• Best for: The WX8 is for the runner who needs gear that survives a downpour, while the Santana earbuds are for the listener who wants premium audio quality and easy setup.
The TREBLAB WX8 is engineered specifically for people who treat their workouts as non-negotiable parts of their day. If you are looking for neckband headphones for jogging or true wireless options that can handle the most punishing conditions, this unit delivers. Its standout feature is the IPX8 waterproof rating. Unlike many competitors that stop at splash resistance, these earbuds can be submerged up to three feet in water. This means you can run through heavy rain, swim laps, or even wear them in the shower without a second thought about moisture damage.
For endurance runners, the battery life is a game-changer. With a total of 28 hours of playback provided by the charging case, you can go nearly a week between charges if you use them for typical hour-long sessions. The case itself supports wireless charging, which adds a layer of modern convenience. You can toss it on a Qi charger alongside your phone, ensuring your backup power is always ready. The 1-hour charge time for the buds themselves is also quick enough to get you back on the track after a missed workout.
The physical design leans heavily into comfort and stability. The inclusion of three sizes of silicone tips allows you to create a custom seal that blocks outside noise effectively. This "sound isolation" is crucial when you are trying to focus on your stride or a podcast during a long run. The ergonomic bud shape fits securely in the ear canal, reducing the chance of them falling out during high-impact movement. However, the trade-off is that they are strictly in-ear. If you prefer an open-ear design that lets ambient traffic noise in for safety, this might not be the perfect fit, though the secure fit helps you ignore distractions rather than hear them.

You should skip this model if you prioritize a compact, ultra-lightweight profile over raw durability or if you don't mind swapping batteries frequently. While the 6-millimeter dynamic driver provides a wide frequency range and powerful bass, audiophiles who demand massive sound stages might find the in-ear form factor limits their immersion compared to over-ear alternatives. But for the average jogger who needs a reliable, waterproof companion that won't die mid-run, the WX8 is a powerhouse.
The SANTANA BY CARLOS SANTANA Sounds Mambo True brings a different philosophy to the table, focusing on audio fidelity and user experience. These earbuds are designed for listeners who appreciate the nuance of music and want a device that feels like an extension of their personal style. The brand collaboration is evident in the vibrant red color option and the emphasis on "HD Premium Quality Stereo Sound." The key here is the driver size: 8 millimeters. Compared to the 6mm drivers found in the TREBLAB WX8, these larger dynamic drivers have the potential to push more air, delivering what the specs describe as rich, high-quality sound with powerful bass.
Connectivity is where the Santana earbuds shine for the casual user. They utilize Bluetooth 5.1 to ensure a stable connection up to 33 feet away from your device. More importantly, they offer a seamless one-step pairing process. As soon as you remove the earbuds from the case, they automatically connect to your smartphone. When you put them back, the music pauses instantly. This automation removes friction from your routine, making it feel effortless to switch between listening to a playlist and taking a call. The built-in microphone with voice-isolating technology ensures your voice comes through clearly during calls, even in noisy environments.
However, the protection level is lower than its competitor. The IPX5 rating protects against sweat and light rain, but it is not designed for submersion. If you plan to run in torrential downpours or swim, these are not the right tool for the job. Additionally, the battery life is significantly shorter, offering only 5 hours per charge and 15 hours total with the case. While sufficient for a standard commute or gym session, it requires more frequent charging cycles. The charging time for the case is also longer at 5 hours, which is a notable delay compared to the 1-hour recharge of the TREBLAB WX8.
This product is perfect for someone who values the "cool factor" and superior bass response for genres like Latin, rock, or hip-hop. It is also a great choice for those who want a headset that looks distinctive. If you are looking for best foldable kids headset for jogging (or any lightweight activity), the rounded tip design offers a comfortable, barely-there feel for extended wear. Just remember that the trade-off is sacrificing the rugged durability and marathon-level battery life of the TREBLAB WX8 for better sound characteristics and easier pairing.
• Best for extreme weather running → TREBLAB WX8. The IPX8 rating allows for full submersion, handling rain, snow, and sweat far better than the IPX5 rating of the Santana model.
• Best for battery longevity → TREBLAB WX8. With 28 hours of total playtime versus 15 hours, the TREBLAB WX8 lasts almost twice as long before needing a top-up.

• Best for bass-heavy audio → SANTANA BY CARLOS SANTANA Sounds Mambo True. The 8mm drivers provide a larger surface area for sound production compared to the 6mm drivers in the WX8.
• Best for quick recharging → TREBLAB WX8. You can fully charge the buds in just 1 hour, whereas the Santana model requires 5 hours to recharge.
• Best for water sports → TREBLAB WX8. Only the WX8 is rated for use in the pool or shower due to its submersion capabilities.
• Best for style and color → SANTANA BY CARLOS SANTANA Sounds Mambo True. The available red color and brand association appeal to those wanting a fashionable accessory.
• Best for daily commutes → SANTANA BY CARLOS SANTANA Sounds Mambo True. The 15-hour battery life is ample for multiple days of moderate use, and the auto-pause feature is convenient for stopping and starting.
After analyzing the specifications and design intent of both units, I would buy the TREBLAB WX8 for my own running needs. The primary reason is the sheer reliability offered by the IPX8 waterproofing and the 28-hour battery life. When you are training for a race or committing to a daily jogging routine, you cannot afford to worry about your earbuds dying halfway through a run or failing because of a sudden rainstorm. The ability to submerge them and the rapid charging capability make them a more practical investment for an active lifestyle. While the Santana earbuds offer excellent sound and a cool look, the functional advantages of the TREBLAB WX8—specifically regarding durability and endurance—are too significant to ignore for anyone serious about fitness.
Yes, the TREBLAB WX8 is rated IPX8, meaning it can be submerged up to three feet and is safe for heavy rain or showers. The SANTANA Sounds Mambo True is IPX5 rated, which handles sweat and light splashes but is not designed for submersion or heavy downpours.
The TREBLAB WX8 wins with 28 hours of total playtime and a 1-hour charge time. The SANTANA Sounds Mambo True offers 15 hours total and takes 5 hours to fully recharge, making the TREBLAB the clear winner for extended use.
Both models feature touch controls. The TREBLAB WX8 uses a multi-functional touch panel for volume and skipping tracks, while the SANTANA model includes integrated touch controls for answering calls and managing media playback.
The SANTANA earbuds use 8mm dynamic drivers, which generally produce a fuller sound with stronger bass compared to the 6mm drivers in the TREBLAB WX8. If pure audio richness is your priority, the Santana model has the edge; if balanced performance and isolation matter more, the TREBLAB holds its ground.
