What We Believe
We believe the Bible is our ultimate authority for doctrine and Christian living and the following statements are the fundamental beliefs we hold:
Bible: We believe that the Bible is God's Word. The Bible was recorded without error, is infallible, non-contradictive, and is plenary and verbally inspired. The Bible is our final authority for faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21).
God: We believe in one God, eternally in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, equal in essence and attributes yet distinct in office and activity (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19-20, John 1:14, 2 Corinthians 13:14, Hebrews 1:1-3, Revelation 1:4-6).
God the Father: We believe in God the Father, an infinite, perfect and personal Spirit. Though He is sovereign over all, He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of mankind. He hears and answers prayers and He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through faith in Jesus Christ (Matthew 6:9, John 14:6, James 1:17).
Jesus Christ: We believe: Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, His Deity, His preexistence (John 1:1, Philippians 2:5-8, Matthew 16:16, Romans 1:4), His virgin birth, His incarnation (Matthew 1:18, Luke 1:35), His sinless life (2 Corinthians 5:21, Hebrews 4:15, 7:26), His substitution atoning death on the cross (Hebrews 2:9, 1 Peter 1:18-19), His body resurrection from the grave (1 Corinthians 15:3-6, Acts 2:223-26, 2 Corinthians 4:14), His ascension. His present meditational high priestly work in heaven (Mark 16:19, Luke 24:5-7, Acts 1:9, 1 Timothy 2:5) and His personal, visible, glorious, imminent, pretribulation return in the air to rapture His disciples (Bride) and His return to earth establish His millennial reign of His Kingdom (Acts 1:11, John 14:2-3, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Revelation 20:4-14).
Holy Spirit: We believe in the Person and work of the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world of sin, makes believers children of God through the new birth, enables the Christians to live a Godly life through His indwelling presence and assures the Christian a home in heaven with the Lord. We believe that man is once baptized by the Spirit in the Body upon receiving Jesus Christ as Savior, and also receives the fullness of the Holy Spirit simultaneously with regeneration. We believe that the Holy Spirit alone administers spiritual gifts to the Church according to His sovereign will. (1 Corinthians 12:1-11, 1 Peter 4:10, John 15:26, 2 Peter 1:21, John 16:8, John 3:5, 1 Corinthians 12:13, John 14:16, Ephesians 1:13, Romans 8:1-13, Galatians 2:20, Romans 12:1-2, Philippians 2:12-13, 1 Peter 1:5).
Man : We believe that man was made in the image of God, originally sinless and pure but sinned in Adam at the fall and is now sinful by nature and by choice and is now in need of salvation. We believe that man is justified (saved from sin and hell) on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Further, we believe in the eternal security of the believer (Genesis 1:26-27, Romans 3:23, 6:23, 5:8, 8:1, 1 John 5:11-13).
The Church: We believe that the New Testament Church is a community of believers that have been saved through faith alone in Christ alone. We believe the Church is responsible for practicing spiritual ordinances and actively engaged in fulfilling the Great Commission. We believe that the ordinances of the Church are only two (2) in number: First, baptism being immersion of the believer in water in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Therefore, baptism symbolizing the believer's previous experience through faith and his union in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ as set forth in Scripture. Second, the Lord's Supper instituted by Christ being a memorial of His atoning sacrifice and the proclamation of the unity of the church. (Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 2:41, 8:38-39, 1 Corinthians 11:23-24, Romans 6-4).
Resurrection: We believe in the resurrection of all men, both the saved and the lost: the saved unto the resurrection of life and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation (1 Corinthians 15:12-19, 2 Corinthians 5:8-10, Luke 16:19-23, Revelation 20:11-15).
Angels: We believe that the angels were created simultaneously by God as a great host of spirit-beings (Psalm 148:2-5, Matthew 22:30, Colossians 1:16), most of whom kept their first estate of holiness and presently worship God and serve His purpose (Hebrews 1:14, Revelations 7:11-12). We believe that one of the angels, Lucifer, fell because of the sin pride, thereby becoming Satan (Isaiah 14:12-17, Ezekiel 28:12-16), and that he influenced a large company of angels to follow him who thus became demons (2 Peter 2:4, Revelation 12:7-9).
