Travis Candieas is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Education at the University of California, Santa Barbara Gevirtz School of Education.
Candieas is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Education at the University of California, Santa Barbara Gevirtz Graduate School of Education. Candieas's research focuses on program evaluation and policy analysis with an emphasis in Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences. His research has been supported by partners such as the Ascendium Education Group and the UC Davis Wheelhouse for Community College Leadership.
Candieas earned his B.A. degree in International Relations and History with an emphasis in World Trade and Development and minor in Education from UC Davis. He earned M.A. in Education with an emphasis in Policy & Leadership from UC Santa Barbara.

Methods for Evaluation and Policy Analysis
Candieas's research on policy analysis and evaluation focuses on the application of latent variable models (structural equations and finite mixtures) in educational and social policy settings. This research focuses on describing population heterogeneity and developing targeted policy interventions for latent subgroups. His methodological research has been presented at the American Evaluation Association and Society for Reserach on Educational Effectiveness annual conferences.

Applied Research and Evaluation
Candieas's research interests broadly include education policy, human development, and behavioral economics. His project history include a variety of multisite programs, pre-college and college access programs, STEM education programs, criminal justice programs, mental health interventions, and international education programs among other programs and projects.
