Travis W. Proctor, Ph.D. is a scholar and public educator of the bible and early Christianity. He is currently Associate Professor of Religion at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio and visiting Research Fellow at the National Humanities Center in Durham, North Carolina (2025-2026).

Dr. Proctor has published peer-reviewed academic scholarship with his field's leading journals, including the Journal of the American Academy of Religion, Journal of Early Christian Studies, and the Harvard Theological Review. His first book, Demonic Bodies and the Dark Ecologies of Early Christian Culture, was published with Oxford University Press in 2022.
