I grew up in the San Gabriel Valley and graduated from Arroyo High School in 2012. Afterwards, I moved to Riverside, CA, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental sciences from the University of California, Riverside, in 2015. Enthralled with science, and set on experiencing life outside Southern California, I decided to pursue a graduate education combining aspects of earth science, chemistry, and environmental science at Tulane University, located in the hearty city of New Orleans. There, I completed a Master of Science degree in earth and environmental sciences in 2017 before returning home to Southern California.
Soon after, I became a science instructor at Learnet Academy. Being the lead instructor for the first time with no prior experience was challenging, but I found the experience surprisingly exhilarating, rewarding, and humbling. More importantly, I concluded that I want to become a teacher; but, I knew there was a lot I needed to do before I could become a full fledged teacher.
Set on the path of becoming a teacher, I enrolled at the Los Angeles County Office of Education's District Intern Program where I learned skills critical to any teacher including, but not limited to: developing and presenting lesson plans, practicing how to teach learners of all types, and learning how to incorporate technology in the classroom.
As a science teacher, I want to help future generations: comprehend the significance of science in our society, practice important scientific concepts that are especially relevant to daily life, and become college-ready lifelong learners that are successful members of a global society.
I specialize in teaching chemistry, environmental science, and earth science. However, I am comfortable with and capable of teaching biology and physics.
