Welcome to our LRC!

My name is Crystal Rutherford and I am SO excited to be Traughber's LRC Director. Many years ago, when I was a student at Traughber, I never would have imagined I would one day be returning as the librarian.  

Aside from being a Traughber & Oswego High School graduate, I have taught in Oswego School District for 15 years.  I taught 3rd grade and 5th grade at Fox Chase Elementary School.  After earning my Masters Degree in reading & literacy, I became a Reading Specialist at Plank Junior High.  My love for reading, and working with students to find their reading interests, led me to earning my Library Media Specialist Endorsement, and am now excited to be apart of Traughber once again!  

I live in Yorkville with my husband, as well as my 2 boys; my oldest is a junior in high school, eek, and my youngest is in 5th grade.  We also have a very spoiled basset hound, named Alice.  

During my free time, I am an Avid Reader... my favorite Genre is mystery and thrillers.  I also love jigsaw puzzles, geocaching, camping, antique shopping, as well as refinishing furniture.
