Privacy Policy for TransVoice
Effective date: October 20, 2026
TransVoice is a Chrome extension that translates text and speech using your own Google Gemini API key.
What data we handle
Your translations: text you type or speak into the extension is sent to Google's Gemini API solely to translate it and, if you tap the speaker, to read the translation aloud. We do not store your translations on any server.
Your API key: your Gemini API key is stored only on your own device, in the extension's local storage. It is sent only to Google's servers to authenticate your API requests. We never see it, collect it, or transmit it anywhere else.
Microphone: when you tap the microphone, your speech is sent to Google's Gemini API to be transcribed into text (so the spoken language can be detected) and translated. We do not store your audio.Â
What we do NOT do
No accounts and no sign-ups.
No analytics, no tracking, no advertising.
We do not sell or share your data with anyone, except Google as described above to perform the translation you requested.
We operate no servers of our own.
Third parties
Google Gemini API: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Speech recognition is handled by your browser and is subject to Google's privacy policy.
Data security
All communication with Google's API uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Your API key never leaves your device except inside those encrypted requests.
Your control
You can delete your API key at any time in the extension's settings. Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data.
