Posture 7. Left, right deflect and parry
(1) [Continuing] from the previous movement, relax the waist and slowly sink the Qi. Turn the body slightly to the right and sit on the right leg. (二). 由前式身左擰,體重心移左腿, 蹬開右腿成左弓步。右掌從右向上向左劃弧, 與左掌合成抱球狀。氣沉丹田以貫注兩掌. 面對東北,目視右手掌, 如圖19。
(2) [Continuing] from the previous movement, twist the body towards the left and shift the center of gravity onto the left leg. Begin to push through the right leg to end in a left bow stance. [At the same time], draw an arc with the right palm, going from the right, passing upward and then going to the left, ending as if holding a ball-shaped object. Sink the Qi to the dan-tian, and then focus [the Qi] into both palms. Face the northeast and look at the right palm, as in Figure 19.

(三). 由前式鬆腰, 徐徐吸氣,身右後轉,坐右腿, 扣左腳尖, 面對南方。同時兩手仍如抱球狀, 隨身轉向右後方搬。徐徐沉氣目注右掌, 如圖20。
(3) [Continuing] from the previous movement, slowly inhale. Turn the body back towards the right and sit on the right leg. Turn the left toes inward and face the south. At the same time, keep the hands as if holding a ball-shaped object, so that as the body turns back to the right, [the hands] deflect [bān]. Slowly sink the Qi and look at the right palm, as shown in Figure 20.

(4) [Continuing] from the previous movement, slowly inhale. Twist the body towards the left and sit back on the left leg. Arrange the right foot [to point] straight [to the south]. At the same time, flip the right hand over and press down using a Yang palm, using the forearm to parry [lán] and press [yā] downward to the left. The right elbow should be in line with the left kneecap. Push [àn] down with the left hand using a Yin palm at the inside of the left knee. Slowly inhale, and look at the right hand, as in Figure 21.
