六. 斜單鞭
(一).由前式徐徐吸氣, 後坐左腿,扣右步, 身左轉, 面南, 同時兩手隨身轉向左後方[扌+履] 。右手以肘為軸, 隨身腰右擰經面前向左向下再向右上挑成鉤掌, 左手指扶於右腕內側, 面對西南, 體重移置右腿, 左腳跟提起, 目視右掌, 如圖16。
Posture 6. Diagonal Single Whip
(1) [Continuing] from the previous movement, slowly inhale. Sit back on the left leg and turn the toes of right foot inward [kòu-bù]. Turn the body left to face the south. At the same time that the body turns, rollback with both hands to the left. Then, twist the body's waist to the right, and use the [right] elbow as an axis to move the right hand, passing in front to the lower left and then raising up to the right to end in a hooked palm. Use the left fingers to support at the inside of the right wrist. Face the southwest, and shift the body's weight onto the right leg. Lift the heel of the left foot, and look at the right palm, as in Figure 16.

(二). 由前式鬆腰坐右腿, 身左後轉向東北, 左腳向東北方移成左弓步。右掌不動, 同時左手心朝裏裏, 由面前隨身裏向外翻, 向前按平成陰掌, 食指與鼻相對。同時頂頭塌腰, 垂肩墜肘, 氣沉丹田以貫注前掌, 体態保持端正, 扣膝裹襠。面對東北, 目注左掌, 如圖17。
(2) [Continuing] from the previous movement, relax the waist and sit on the right leg. Turn the body back to the left towards the northeast. Move the left foot towards the northeast, ending in a left bow stance while keeping the right palm unchanged. At the same time, change the center of the left hand to face inward in front of the face, and then as the body turns flip the [left hand] to face outward. Push [the left hand] forward at [shoulder] level, ending in a Yin palm with the index finger in line with the nose. At the same time, push through the crown of the head and settle down into the waist. Sink the shoulders and drop the elbows. Sink the Qi to the dan-tian, and then focus [the Qi] into front palm. Maintain an upright posture. Buckle the knees, and wrap the inner thighs. Face the northeast, and look at the left palm, as in Figure 17.
