二九 志在光復大陸
卅九年三月一日，蔣總統復職，在中國史上，是應大書特書的。自短視的政客們，碎心和談，蔣總統引退，失去之革命領導重心，不到一半，大廈分崩離析，華宇陸沉，淪於紅禍，政府避遷臺島，幸巨人復職，領導軍民，始奠定復興基地和樹立反共的堡壘。
我蒙朝野推重，當選為第一屆國民大會代表。卅九年隨政府來臺。既而總統復職，百廢俱興，百政思舉，並確定建設臺灣，光復大陸之方針。於是成立「光復大陸設計委員會，」由陳副總統兼主任委員，研討設計光復大陸後之各種方案。我兼代光復大陸設計委員會臺中區主任，歷年稱有成就。第一屆第二三次國民大會，當選為主席團主席及憲改研討會成立，總統指定為常務委員。深感責任方艱，不辭竭盡棉薄，以奉行三民主義，效忠黨國為職志。
29. The Ambition to Restore Light to the Mainland
On March 1st in the 39th year of the Republic [~1950], Chiang Kai-shek resumed the position of president, which was a remarkable event in Chinese history. [Previously], due to the lack of foresight of the politicians [after the end of World War II], the peace talks [between the Nationalist Party and the Communist Party] broke down, and President Chiang Kai-shek retired from office. The revolutionary leadership lost almost half of the core of its leadership. The grand building collapsed, and the magnificent continent sunk, ruined by the red disaster. The government fled to Taiwan, but fortunately the great person [i.e., Chiang Kai-shek] resumed his post, leading both the military and civilians, and began to lay the foundation for the revival of the military infrastructure and the establishment of an anti-communist fortress.
I was elected as a member of the first national assembly. In the 39th year of the Republic [~1950], the [Nationalist] government came to Taiwan, and soon after, the president resumed his post. All of the neglected tasks were again being undertaken, numerous policies were considered, and the guidelines for building Taiwan and restoring the mainland [to National Party control] were determined. Therefore, the “Mainland Recovery Planning Committee” was established, with Vice President Chen also acting as the chairman of the committee to discuss and design various plans to regain [control of mainland] China. I was director of the Taichung branch of the Mainland Recovery Planning Committee, which over the years had many achievements.
At the first, second and third national assemblies, I was selected by Chairman of the Presidium to setup a discussion forum for constitution changes, and the president appointed me as a Standing Committee Member of the Constitutional Research Committee. I am deeply aware of the difficulties that come with responsibility. I will spare no effort in pursuing the “Three Principles of the People”, and I aspire to devote myself to the [Nationalist] Party and the country.
