Translatebruh is built with privacy in mind. To provide its core functionality (translating web pages), the extension reads the text content of the active web page only when you explicitly click the translate button or enable automatic translation.
2. Third-Party APIs
The text extracted from the web page is temporarily sent to a secure AI API (such as Google Gemini, OpenAI, DeepL, etc., depending on your selection) solely for the purpose of translation. We do not store, log, or save any of the website content or your translated text on any personal servers.
3. Personal Information
We do not collect, store, or share any Personally Identifiable Information (PII), browsing history, IP addresses, or location data.
4. Local Storage
The extension uses your browser's local storage to save your UI preferences (such as your selected target language, preferred translation provider, and dark/light mode preference). This data remains locally on your device and is never transmitted to us.
