Our History: The Jane Johnson Fund originated in 2005 and provided funding for multi-sensory rooms "Jane's Rooms" across schools in San Diego county. In an effort to provide lifelong support to the students impacted by these efforts, the Jane Johnson Fund expanded it's mission to include the work described below.
Our Work: Transitioning With Technology provides funding and resources for assistive technology and adaptive equipment to students with disabilities who are no longer eligible for public school services.
Our Mission: Public school districts often do an excellent job providing such equipment during the school age years. However, this equipment stays with the district when the student leaves. We are committed to ensuring individuals with disabilities maintain access to assistive technology and adaptive equipment that allows them to communicate and participate in activities of daily living.
Our Funding Requirements: Currently, the only students eligible for funding through Transitioning With Technology are students leaving the Grossmont Union High School District. Students' families must demonstrate a need for financial support as well as a willingness to contribute toward funding based on their income. Please see application page for more information.
