Transience began in the summer of 2024 when lifelong Zack Leeb (Guitar and Vocals) and Leo Freedman (Keyboard) came together to start a band. The lineup grew to include Joonho Choi (Bass), Nico Savoia (Drums), and Yuntong Pan (Alto Sax and Vocals). Transience quickly developed a large repertoire of covers and originals by Yuntong and Zack. The band went on stage for the first time in November 2024 at the UW HuskyJam Frozen Echoes show. They quickly grew in the local music scene, playing 23 shows around the Seattle area in their first year (including a jazz concert with singer Mae Trujillo Lombardi). The band played a TinyDesk-style concert for the UW Daily and released a live EP from the recordings in February. They released another live EP from a May show at the Blue Moon Tavern in Seattle.
Transience is currently recording a lot of new music and will be releasing its first studio album on February 7th, 2026!
Transience draws from a wide range of influences, culminating in a wholly unique psychedelic sound. I don't feel like enumerating these vast influences at the moment, so check back later for a bigger paragraph here.
