Dark, Kindness, Pain
Mildly ominous and yet electric, Mani K. Ayyapan creates compositions that beautifully stitch together narratives of introspection and solitude. The photographs of the masked figures draw one back to the work of Rene Magritte - The Lovers'; essentially what is meant to be revealed is also veiled from us.
He works with photography, art and even cinema; lending his talents to a myriad creative streams of work.
'The work intends to create the potential to believe everything in this universe is an illusion. For me, an artist has to be a human full of compassion for all the creatures. His technique is simple, but the concept keeps the momentum high. I experiment and my works show people who do not know how to react. I also understand the fact that if I do not do it, nothing is going to happen.'
