Rumours and Misconceptions inside and outside the Community
How to dispel cultural / ethnic / social misconceptions and prejudices inside and outside the community of social housing neighbourhoods? Which tools and practices can minimise these problems and encourage dialogue between conflicting stakeholders?
The purpose is to understand the existing rumours inside and outside the communities of Braga's social housing neighbourhoods and to create a strategy capable of dissipating existing prejudices – such a strategy may be based on the study of communication between the social housing neighbourhoods; the community and the city of Braga.
Multicultural Lifestyles / Space Typologies
How are the relations of proximity between these neighbourhoods and the city? What are the challenges of designing spaces for communities with different lifestyles and multicultural backgrounds?
The purpose is to understand the relations of proximity between these neighbourhoods and the wider city (mobility networks, hidden networks, etc.). It is also intended to incite a reflection about the adequacy of the built space of these neighbourhoods regarding the multicultural lifestyles of their community. The point of this critical reflection is to identify opportunities and constraints in the public and private spaces of these neighbourhoods, in order to create a basis for the construction of alternative urban strategies.
Ways of Living and Gender Structures
How to make visible the informal activities that take place in these neighbourhoods? How are organized the existing ways of living and gender structures in the community and how do they relate with the public and private spaces of these social housing neighbourhoods?
The purpose is to identify informal activities and the specificity of the ways of living of these social housing neighbourhoods. It is also expected that participants get a grasp of the existing family / gender structures in the community and their relation with the built environment (in the neighbourhoods and the wider city).
