Thanks for visiting my research site. I'm a Senior Research Officer at Murdoch Children's Research Institute and based in Melbourne (Australia). I completed a Doctoral Degree in Social Science at Monash University (Australia) and a Master's Degree in Public Policy and Human Development at Maastricht University (the Netherlands). My research areas include women's health, chronic conditions, health services research, gender, and social inequalities. I am especially interested in understanding how social and structural factors influence the way ill health is experienced among underserved populations. My current projects explore what can facilitate the implementation of genomics in patient care and the experience of Genetic Counsellors transitioning to work in medical specialties in response to the growing demands for genomic healthcare.
I use theories and methodologies grounded in the social sciences and implementation science in my work. I believe that small data can tell powerful stories and have a special interest in using qualitative research and innovative methods to answer important questions facing our world and society.
I am also an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne and Monash University where I previously worked as a Teaching Associate and Research Officer. Before coming to Australia, I was a Researcher at the Institute for Social Development Studies (Hanoi, Vietnam) and advised the World Bank Vietnam on ethnic minority issues and gender mainstreaming in development projects/policies.
