My name is Le Tran. I joined the Department of Mathematics at Texas State University as a lecturer in Fall 2024, and transitioned to the role of Assistant Professor of Instruction in Fall 2026. I completed my Ph.D. degree at New Mexico State University under the supervision of Professor Dr. Louiza Fouli. I also achieved my master's degree at New Mexico State University. I am interested in Commutative Algebra and its interactions with Combinatorics. My research focuses on the study of initially regular sequences and computations of the depth of edge ideal of graphs. I am also interested in certain graphs' invariants of binomial edge ideals.
I have a passion for teaching Mathematics and want to become a teacher that can invoke enthusiasm in studying Mathematics and help nurture every student's potential. I emphasize the importance of perseverance, as I firmly believe that learning Mathematics involves making mistakes and learning from them. My favorite quote is "Education is not the learning of facts but the training of the mind to think" - Albert Einstein, which inspires my goals in teaching and studying Mathematics.
