This laboratory is for all first year students. In this site, you will get information of the Mechanical Part of this lab.
This laboratory is for all ME and IM Second year students, bearing roll numbers ME1, ME3, MF1, MF3, IM1 and IM3.
The laboratory is parallely held at three locations
1. Machining - Mechanical Training Workshop (Old and Annex building ground floor)

This laboratory is run in four sections in a week between 2 to 5 pm at the above three locations: Monday (Section 1), Tuesday (Section 2), Wednesday (Section 3) and Friday (Section 4) - Almost 80-85 students per section.
Syllabus of this laboratory, ME29201
Machining:
1. Demonstration of Electric Discharge Machining (EDM) process
2. Demonstration of Wire - Electric Discharge Machining (Wire EDM) process
3. Demonstration of Vertical Milling machine – Fabrication of flat surface and machining of slot.
4. Demonstration of measurement of surface roughness generated using EDM, turning and end milling.
5. Demonstration of Drilling and making internal thread using tapping operation.
6. Demonstration of turning, taper turning, facing and threading on lathe
Welding:
1. Demonstration of welding in upward, downward and flat position using Arc Welding Process and comparison of weld bead formed thereof.
2. Demonstration of torch brazing as joining technique: lap and butt joint
Foundry:
1. Demonstration of moulding tools and mould making.
2. Hands on experiments on sand moulding with a self core pattern.
3. Experiment on casting of an aluminium component by sand moulding.
