The Trail Elderly Citizens Housing Society is happy to announce we’re looking for new Board members.
Who are we? The Trail Elderly Citizens Housing Society (TECHS) oversees the operation of a 35-unit housing facility in downtown Trail for persons generally in the low-income sector who are capable of independent living. As a board of 4-5 persons, we meet monthly for 1-2 hours. Each board member contributes using their unique skills to support a paid position, the Office/Building Administrator. We are responsible for making decisions regarding facilities management, long-term capital planning, budgeting, project development and management, and encouraging the social well-being of tenants.
Who are we looking for? We’re seeking individuals who care about seniors, the low-income sector and who may have skills to help in any of the following areas: leadership, board governance, rental property management, facilities management, project development and management, office administration, grant writing, treasury management, interviewing applicants, website administration, data management, seniors wellness, social work, communication with seniors -some with mild cognitive impairment, etc. We are committed to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion.
